Session 5: Collections and secrets

Our session continued with the group racing across the slabs looking for cool monsters to bag as well as racing the recovery team. Their next slab consisted of large snowy mountains caught in a blizzard. They made their way up and could tell something was following them. the storm got bad enough they needed to take shelter and the first cave had something massive sleeping in it. They passed on that and found a better one more suited to waiting out the storm. As they rested strange two headed reptilian rats burrowed out of the stone and attacked them. They battled the weird little guys and eventually were joined by the snowy owlbear that was following them, which ate a few of the rats. In the morning the owlbear was gone, leaving them to hope it was full.

They journeyed to the next slab, a damp brackish marshland full of green stagnant water with large bonelike structures caught peeking up from below. Eventually they found what looked like a spelljamming vessel crashed in a larger pool. The vessel was a large metallic curved disc shape half submerged in the muck, making it difficult to explore. The ooze like warlock Brux shimmied into the cracked door and opened it up for the rest of the group. They were mostly up to their knees in the water, except for the autognome Quasar who was struggling. Clyde stayed outside with the bikes. The bridge of the ship had broken consoles with large sized one-eyed skeletons splayed across them wearing primary color shirts. The group started looting metal fragments when they heard shouting and gun fire from outside the ship.

Clyde was taking shots at an Eselend, a large water monster that could spit water jets dealing massive damage. They found out it was a mother and her younglings and ended up capturing her, but after she blasted a hole in Brux the warlock. The group noticed the entire exchange was being watched by strange shelled goblin-like creatures hanging out in waterlogged trees. The younglings escaped, the group captured an egg as well.

In the quiet the group was scanning monsters and tried to scan themselves, finding out that they were clones. The Artificer Din started panicking and with the help of her allies hacked into the Argusdrive and found that not only were they clones but a very evil dragon named Ashardalon oversaw Argentheart. The group had questions, and it was late. We would pick up from there in the next session.

It was an amazing feeling to get out that kind of massive secret that I had been holding onto for almost six months, I am terrible with secrets.
